I'm hoping this issue becomes less common as Amazon begins to issue new versions of FireOS based on more recent versions of Android. I really detest this bug - resetting a device should always be a last resort. However, Amazon has not made the tun module for FireOS available, so unfortunately you will most likely have to reset the device to its factory settings to recover VPN functionality. If you still receive the same error after rebooting, normally on Android you would reinstall the tun from a third-party repository. The first thing to try here is to reboot your Firestick and see if you're able to connect. This is a firmware, rather than application issue - with the tun module in this state, you will be unable to connect to any VPN, not just PIA. Your log indicates that the tun module, which is required to establish a VPN connection, is either unavailable or corrupt. Unfortunately, it looks like this is indeed the problem I thought I was. PIA app is the newest APK available on the PIA site 1.6.5.1 and the fire tv's operating system is Fire OS 5.2.6.6. I have seen other people mention this same problem online, but I have been unable to find a solution. I have tried using PIA apps on my android phone and computer and they both work (I don't want it running on my computer or entire network though as I use my computer for work and the VPN can interfere with some sites I use), but I am unable to connect with either Fire TV. I have tried selecting different regions/servers in different countries and they all give me the same error. I am able to change regions, but when I actually try to use the Connect slider, it goes orange for about 10 seconds trying to connect and goes through what seem to be all the steps - "building configuration", "waiting for server reply", "authenticating", "getting client configuration" "assigning ip addresses", "adding routes", but then just goes to Disconnected and shows "No Process running" on the bottom of the screen. I have installed it on both fire TV's successfully along with the mouse gesture app. I signed up for the service to use it on my Fire TV's (I have 2). Hopefully you can all help (if not I may try to get a refund as the only reason I signed up for PIA was to use on my fire TV's). Reboot your router and modem if you suspect your network isn't working as it should.Hello, I tried emailing this to PIA support and they directed me to this subreddit.
