The next episode took place 20 years later, at the World Cup in 1986, when Diego Maradona scored his famous ‘hand of God’ goal. The Argentinian coach said the English and the Germans were collaborating to eliminate them from the competition. He explained later that his intention was to speak with the German referee on behalf of his team, who felt the referee was ruling in favour of England. He was still arguing with the referee when the police entered the pitch and took him away. It was minute 35 and the Argentinian players were controlling the game when their captain, Antonio Rattin, received a red card. England won 1-0 thanks to a goal which Argentina claimed was offside. The refined product with the largest profit margin is a grand sculpture, having a 51.25% profit margin. The oak tree's raw product is wood, which has a market value of 1.4 silver. Oak trees don't yield any human-edible products. Potatoes grow well even in somewhat poor soil, and form a delicious crispy outer coating when fried in oil. Oak trees are also more difficult to cut down. You can help RimWorld Wiki by expanding it. Even a string of bad events should not lead to ruin. If you are in a colder map you might be able to squeeze an extra harvest of Hay before winter but probably not Corn. The oak tree's long growing cycle also means that it's more susceptible to blight loss in non-native biomes, and it's also susceptible to growth slowdown with environmental changes. An other thing to keep in mind is that not all maps have year-long growing period. In terms of yield per day, oak trees are smack-bang in the middle out of all seven trees in the base game. As a result, poplar trees are still significantly better for wood farming only taking about 50% as long to grow, but yielding 60% as much wood. However, they also have the second longest growing time, again with teak trees taking first. This is the area where you colonists will grow the plants. Under Zones you will find the option for create a grow zone. To do this, open up the architect menu which is on the bottom left of the screen. If you can grow a bunch of corn outside, this is the most efficient way to produce mass simple meals as I described above. Most exotic good traders show up with no more than 3k silver, so you unload around 150 meals (or more if you want any items off the trader, makes buying bionics very cheap) and clean them out, and before you know it, you have 10k silver and no longer need anything. I usually get around 19 silver per simple meal (Social skill 12-14 pawn). If in a year round growing biome, selling simple meals to exotic goods traders is incredibly lucrative since A16. Depending on the page’s content, a window will pop up suggesting a particular content format for your post. Just drag it to your bookmarks toolbar and use it when you find something to blog about. The Tumblr bookmarklet makes it easy to post content from anywhere on the Web. It also gives you complete control over how your theme looks and works without having to start from scratch. You can link to an external style sheet, too (Tumblr has a static file uploader for uploading theme assets).Įditing an existing theme is a great way to start designing for Tumblr. Click on the “Customize” link from your dashboard, and then click on “Theme” and “Custom HTML.” This is also how you would create a theme from scratch. You can customize the HTML in any theme, too. There’s also an area to enter custom CSS that will override existing styles. Most Tumblr themes come with some customization options that don’t require any HTML and CSS knowledge (if you plan to create some public themes, you’ll probably want to include some customization options). While wider themes are available, the vast majority are narrower than 800 pixels (and some even narrower than that). One thing you may notice with Tumblr themes is that a lot of them have very narrow content areas. Take some time to go through the theme options when you sign up, either to find one for your tumblelog or to get ideas to create your own theme. Hundreds of themes are available for Tumblr, most of them for free. Once your account is set up, you can start posting right away. You’ll have the option to set up a custom domain name after you’ve signed up. Just sign up on the site, enter your email address and a password and the URL you want to use ( ). Just make sure not to post to your public tumblelog by accident! Getting Started Tumblr also lets you keep private Tumblelogs that are password-protected, so you can share them with those you know or keep them completely personal. You can also set up numerous blogs under a single account (each with its own custom options), though only one username is able to follow other tumblelogs. You can set up group blogs with multiple authors. Tumblr gives you fairly complete control over how you blog. That’s also where you’ll find the links to heart or reblog content. Tumblr also gives you the option to reblog or “heart” (the equivalent to a “Like” on Facebook) posts from anyone, whether you follow them or not.įollowing other users is simple: just click the “Follow” link in the upper-right corner of their tumblelog. Like Twitter, Tumblr lets you follow other users and view their posts in your dashboard. While dozens of Tumblr apps are already out there, there’s still plenty of room for further expansion. The API itself is relatively straightforward and anyone with basic PHP and XML skills will have a short learning curve. You can set up Tumblr to automatically post to your Twitter or Facebook account, too.įor developers, the API opens a world of options for creating apps. Desktop and mobile apps are available, as well as widgets and plug-ins that you can use on other websites. More than a dozen iPhone apps can be used with Tumblr, and at least as many Web services. The Tumblr API has spawned plenty of third-party apps that let you do all sorts of things with Tumblr. You can also email in posts of all types (each type of post has a specific email format). For audio posts, you can even call in a post, requiring nothing more than a phone. It’s a quite flexible system.īecause of the unique post formats, Tumblr makes a perfect platform for vlogging and podcasting, as well as for photo blogging. You can also add plain text to most of these post types, and you can add images to your text posts. Most themes take advantage of the differences between these post types and implement special formatting for each one. There are templates for text, photos, videos, audio, quotes, links and chat transcripts. The fact that Tumblr has built-in formats for a variety of content types makes it stand out from other blogging and micro-blogging platforms. It handles longer-form and multimedia posts, like regular blogs, while encouraging more interaction between tumbleloggers, like micro-blogs. Tumblr tries to combine the best parts of blogging and micro-blogging in one. It also makes it very simple for you to follow other tumbleloggers on the website and to share their content. Quite simply because Tumblr makes setting up a blog very easy. It paints a story beginning with the abuser's perspective. May it be accidental drug overdose, being in the wrong crowd, committing suicide to PLEASE an abusive "father", etc. No Name from UsaThis song, to me, is about the disgust with how the death of some is regarded as "deserved" because of their actions that led to their death.Hopefully helps to curb the negative judgment of society, as well as possibly helping someone to seek help if they find themselves in one of those situations. I like this song because it makes you think. I hear all of those stories in the lyrics as they are described by each story. This song has a meaning to all that listen to it. If I knew that some guy got away with the murder of their child because their kids death was considered a suicide, I'd be crying to! Crying out loud at the top of my lungs! "Why did you send your own son to die? He did everything for you! His self-sacrifice was for you, yet you judge him and not yourself?" The irony would be that the child did everything they could just to make the father happy, yet regardless how hard they try to please the father, they are forsaken. Craig from UsaMaybe a child with a good heart was brutally murdered by an abusive father, but the father got away with it because the death of the child was considered a suicide. So thanks you systems of the down for this gem. An over all even reading more about at an older age I understand even more so why I’ve loved this song all these years. All in all this song helped me feel seen. It’s like describing how I would kill myself on the inside to please others and I’d cry to god asking him to save me. Muvadragon from Somewhere On EarthI’ve always felt like I could relate to this song growing up.Not Serj Tankian from WarrenI don't know about you guys, but I think it's funny how apparently this song is touching on drug addiction, yet the next song on the album, "Bounce", literally is about doing drugs and talks about it in a somewhat "positive" way.It could be Family and definitely Friends. People leave you by the wayside like a piece of trash. They could have been a Great person with good intentions, but one way or another things happen. Which is terrible in my opinion, some people didn't have the Best Life because no one stepped in to stop them from the way they were living or the things they were doing. Luke 23:46 & Isaiah 49:14 Daron and Serj are right, People do indeed Judge you even After Death depending on the way someone passed.

So from 2010 we began experimenting a lot with different materials, machines, suppliers, processes. This took a lot of time, and because the moulds were expensive to make, we were obliged to create tens of thousands of parts from each one just to make them cost effective – whereas 3D printing could potentially allow us to print one-off elements on the go.Īll of this told us that we needed to look into this technology seriously, as it would allow us to address some of the key questions that not only this company, but the whole industry will be facing in the future. The traditional process at the time was to create moulds for specific elements of the shoe, then to inject them with the materials to make that particular part. Then in 2010, as 3D printing was evolving – the materials were getting better, the processes were getting faster, costs were going down, performance was going up – we figured out that the trend would be towards 3D printing elements that would be used in the actual final product. This also coincided with footwear industry trends at the time which were moving towards smaller runs, faster time to market, more flexibility in production, and we felt 3D printing could also address all of these. But they were just prototypes, very fragile – you couldn't walk in them – and they couldn't be used in the final product. Every footwear company was using this process to print midsoles, outsoles, to put them on an upper, to see how they look, to see if we needed to redo it. There was a process called Rapid Prototyping that allowed you to print parts of shoes. When we talk about the beginnings of 3D printing, we need to go back to the early 2000s. For the past eight years I have been basically one of the 'founding fathers' of 3D printing activity here at adidas – the results of which you're now seeing with 4D.ĤD and the tech behind it are obviously very much future-facing, but can you take it back for a moment to explain how and why the brand first got interested in the idea of using 3D printing for footwear, and how this has evolved over time? So we have the luxury of looking into elements we think might become relevant from a technology perspective for our products – such as 3D printing. Our R&D team is where we are able to look into concepts that are five to seven years out before they might go into a commercial space. I originally trained as a mechanical engineer, and have been with the company for 12 years now – the last eight in Germany as part of the Research and Development team. I'm Director of Future Technology Innovation here at adidas. The latest 4D drops can be found across, adidas_LDN Oxford St and select retailers now.ĬOMPLEX: Can you begin by introducing yourself and your role at adidas? While last season saw adidas taking 4D to the next level with a slew of releases, the brand is now introducing the 4D Run to kick off 2020 in a major way. Complex caught up with Marco Kormann, the brand's Director of Future Technology Innovation, to find out more on the story behind their groundbreaking 4D tech and their plans for it in future. First dropping a shoe with a 3D printed midsole as a concept release from Futurecraft – their incubator for showcasing experimental and conceptual innovation – back in 2017, they have since been gradually ramping up their offering under the banner of adidas 4D. This is a shift that is likely to continue, and one that opens up enormous possibilities from a design perspective – not least the potential for totally personalised footwear at some point in the very near future.Īdidas are a brand at the very forefront of 3D printing innovation. While many brands have used 3D printing as a part of their manufacturing process for a while – mainly in the development of prototypes – we're now starting to see 3D printed elements increasingly appearing in the final products themselves. One current technological trend that is almost certain to still be around, however, and all set to have a massive impact on the footwear game as a whole in the coming decade, is 3D printing. Not all technological innovations are born equal, of course, and when those 'Best Sneakers of the 2020s' lists finally come around, it's highly likely only a handful of today's hottest tech developments will have stood the test of time. So much so that these days, barely a week seems to pass before we're hearing about the latest – biggest! lightest! shiniest! – iteration to drop. As the global sneaker game has exploded over the past few years, so too has the rate of technological innovation within it. STEWART BUTTERFIELD: It's- there's such a strong bias towards the status quo. So there is this accretion of value the longer an organization uses Slack.īut what we want to do now is look at the 30 hours a week we spend on video calls where there is no- there's not even a receipt left at the end that says that the call happened and start to think about what can we do to facilitate the curation, collation, collection, organization of the materials that were shared, the notes that were shared, and start to think about a different way of working live that really captures some of that value so that, in my dream, in the future, a couple of years from now, you can get invited to a meeting, and you're, like, no, I'll just catch it after because right now there is no catching it after.īRIAN SOZZI: Why are we still meeting like it's 2019? I just had somebody put something on my Google Calendar. And it's, like, anyone wants to share any of the hundreds of millions of messages you're cut off from, they have to do it one at a time manually. On the other hand, if you join a company where the primary means of communication is email, you start with an empty inbox. The other thread, I think, is if you imagine starting to work at a new company where they use Slack, you can scroll back to the last six months of conversation with your team, you have all this archive, all this history, you can search. But there's a lot of curiosity about the power of that integration and kind of Slack's traditional idea that we want to be a multiplier on the value of your other software. There's a lot of people who are customers of both. And obviously there's a lot of Slack customers here. One is you just mentioned the integration into Salesforce, so this kind of deep across the Customer 360, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, MuleSoft, Tableau, the whole thing. STEWART BUTTERFIELD: Yeah, I guess there's- so there's two things. There seems to be a new evolution- or an evolution playing out in Slack now that it's really been integrated inside of Salesforce. I've talked to your Chief Product Officer Tamar. People are realizing the possibilities to transform the way they work, to rethink organizational design, management structures, peer feedback, performance reviews, all that stuff really leveraging the digital technology that we've taken for granted.īRIAN SOZZI: What is the evolution of Slack? So I caught the keynotes. So this is a long answer to your question, but I'm just starting to see that kind of creep into the consciousness. We don't do that so much for knowledge workers. So there is this- we say digital HQ is a marketing term, but there is this digital infrastructure that supports productivity and collaboration that's really essential that, from my perspective, I think people have underappreciated or underinvested in because it's intangible, because it's invisible.Īnd, look, if you were a manufacturing company, you're relentlessly looking for ways to optimize the factory floor and the productivity. I find this very compelling evidence that we, as a matter of objective fact, kept going, and even thrived in many cases, through the pandemic despite the fact that we couldn't go to the office.īut if we were allowed to go to the office and you took away the software, it wouldn't have worked. If, in March of 2020 in some parallel universe, we were allowed to keep on meeting in offices, traveling for work, using conference rooms, commuting, and all that stuff but you took away the software, then every large enterprise would have just disintegrated, like, it would have ceased to exist in 24 hours. STEWART BUTTERFIELD: I make this argument. |
